Happy Cinco de Mayo!

It's Cinco de Mayo and you know what that means; lots of tacos and margaritas to celebrate this holiday :)  (bonus points to anyone who knows why we celebrate Cinco de Mayo).

If you have been in Lynchburg for longer than a day you know that you can find Mexican food in a half mile radius of anything. There are several La Carrettas and, Mi Patrons on every side of this city. They are cheap, quick and fun! But most of the time they leave you feeling heavier than when you walked in. This Cinco de Mayo I recommend you try out a different kind of Mexican, Lola's.

Lola's is located on Old Forest Rd. across from CVS. It has been there about a year and has taken over for the slew of other restaurants that have been in the building. They re-vamped the inside, with bright decor and made the outside stand out a bit more. The staff are very friendly and provide excellent service.

Their menu has some of the things you would find at other Mexican restaurants, like tacos, burritos and fajitas. They have some unique items as well, such as the Burrito a la Mexicana. I have tried something new every time I go and I am never disappointed. My favorite part though is that I never have that heavy feeling when I leave. The food is not greasy and has a fresh taste to it.

And if you like a good margarita I recommend one of their skinny margaritas! The rose is my favorite, but you can't go wrong with any of their options!

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in Lynchburg. Great staff, great atmosphere and great food! Check out their facebook page:

I promise you won't be disappointed!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!
